Operation Christmas Boxes 2024

The countdown to the 2024 holiday season is underway! So, why not share a bit of festive sparkle with local children in need via the Lake Aid Christmas Boxes Collection?

It’s an easy, hands-on way to spread some festive joy among the vulnerable young people living in in temporary accommodation and emergency shelters in the Annecy and Thones area.

Keen to get involved? Simply register online via our dedicated HelloAsso page.

Here’s how it works…

Depending on their age and situation, each child will receive from you:

  • either a Christmas Box, such as a shoe-box, which you fill with little presents (new or like-new items only please) and wrap in festive paper (for 0 -12 years olds)
  • or a Gift voucher worth €25 Euros, paid by you online, ordered and wrapped by our volunteers (for teenagers).

Other ways to help Lake Aid support local children in need this Christmas:

  • Making a small one-off donation. Even €10 makes a big difference to how much we can help – and you can get a generous tax break to boot
  • Donating monthly – or from time to time – to provide financial aid for a disabled refugee child in the Annecy/Thones region
  • Sponsoring one of the five disabled refugee children currently based in Annecy/Thones to help buy essentials such as medication (each child needs between €60 and €150 a month for these expenses)
  • Participating in collections to buy bikes for elderly/disabled members of the community and/or take young refugees on holiday
  • Joining the Lake Aid team and giving your time to help organise campaigns and events
