Since the start of the school year in September, Lake Aid volunteers have been providing support to young miners in the Faverges area.
We have been helping young people from Giez to learn French by setting up two groups: a beginner group and a level 1 group.
The sessions take place every Wednesday morning and involve guiding the young people through scenarios such as introducing yourself, attending a doctor’s appointment, taking a train, going to the grocery store, etc.
We have also been providing young people from Doussard and Lathuile with individual homework support covering a range of subjects including maths, geography, SVT, English, and professional internship reports.
Eric, Suzanne and Antoine led around 50 such sessions over a four-month period. It’s a great way to help the young people to learn and progress.
